In an inspiring recognition of their dedication to community service, MET PLUS co-founders Chet Pitts and Dr. Sarah Pitts, along with their team of devoted volunteers, have been awarded the prestigious President’s Volunteer Service Award by the Biden-Harris Administration. The Being That Girl organization hosted the Last Call Gala honoring outstanding individuals for their service in the community.

This national honor celebrates individuals and organizations that significantly impact their communities through service and volunteerism. MET PLUS, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, has long been a beacon of hope, providing employment and training services to empower individuals across Michigan.

The President’s Volunteer Service Award, established in 2003, recognizes volunteers who achieve substantial service hours within a year or throughout their lifetime. Award tiers include bronze, silver, gold, and the distinguished Lifetime Achievement Award for those completing over 4,000 hours of service.

Chet Pitts and Dr. Sarah Pitts, alongside their incredible volunteer network, have worked tirelessly to help community members gain the skills and opportunities needed for meaningful employment. Their passion for fostering growth and positive change exemplifies the spirit of volunteerism that this award honors.

This accolade is a testament to MET PLUS’s profound impact on the community and the incredible leadership of its co-founders. Their service not only transforms lives but also inspires others to get involved in building stronger and more inclusive communities.

Congratulations to MET PLUS, Chet Pitts, Dr. Sarah Pitts, and their amazing volunteers for this well-deserved honor!
